Upcoming Latin Projects!!!
All Latin classes have an upcoming project. The due date for all projects is November 14th, and because you have so much time to complete the project, no late projects will be accepted. Latin Lab
Latin Lab will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays, after school until 4:00pm in Mr. Simmons' room (#146). All students are invited to attend, whether they need help or want to give help. |
No Vocab This Week!
Due to the short week, there will be no vocab this week (10/8-10/10). We will pick up next week with vocab list #9) |
Final draft of "Make a Difference" paper due this Friday!
Students must turn in their final draft of the "Make a Difference" paper on Friday, October 5th. Electronic copies will not be accepted, so plan ahead. Technical difficulties and problems (i.e., printer problems, internet connectivity issues, blue screen of death, etc.) are not acceptable excuses. |
Parent-Teacher Conferences 9/26-9/27
Parent-Teacher Conferences are scheduled on Wednesday and Thursday, September 26 and 27, from 4:00 to 8:00pm. Parents of students with last names beginning with A-J should plan to attend on Wednesday; last names beginning with K-Z on Thursday. Parent-Teacher Conferences can get very busy and teachers can get backed up, so if you think you will need more than a few minutes with any of your student’s teachers, we encourage you to contact those teachers prior to Parent Teacher Conferences to set up an appointment on a different day. We appreciate your help! |
Mandatory Soccer Meeting
There will be a mandatory meeting for all boys interested in playing high school soccer this year on Thursday (9/27) at 3:15pm in my room (#146). Do not be late and do not be absent. We will be discussing eligibility, off-season workouts, expectations and goals, and fundraising. Spread the word!

Socratic Exam on Tuesday, 9/25
There will be an exam on Tuesday for all SS9 students. The exam will include all material covered from the beginning of the year up through Monday, 9/24. Study guides were handed out. If you need one, you can access them below. The civilizations that will be covered are: Mesopotamia, Egypt, Old Babylon, Assyria, Neo-Babylon, & Persia. |
Socratic Seminar Field Trip to BYU
The Socratic classes will be going to the Museum of Art (MOA) at BYU on Wednesday, September 12th. Please remember that you must be in full dress or you will not be allowed to go. |
9/7: Latin 1 Vocab Quiz on Monday, 9/10
There will be a vocab quiz on Monday (9/10), which will cover all vocabulary from chapters 1-3. |
8/30: Socratic Seminar Exam Coming Up!
There will be an exam on Unit 1 Section 1 (lessons 1-8) on Friday, Sept. 7. You can access the study guide here. Note that items in light grey are not included in this exam. If you have questions, please ask me after class or email me. |
